Alhaurin Golf & Country Club
Alhaurin is a unique club, in that it has three golf courses -- an 18 hole par 72 course designed by Seve Ballesteros, a nine hole par 3 course bordering a beautiful lake, and an 18 hole junior course (adults may play only when accompanied by a child.) The par 72 course is of international quality with challenging holes lush green fairways and greens set amongst pine woods. Situated between Mijas and Coín in the Sierra de Mijas, this course has majestic views of mountains to the north and Africa and the Mediterranean to the south.

Mijas Golf Club
With two of the busiest and most popular golf courses on the Costa del Sol, Mijas Golf is definitely doing something right. Both 18 hole courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones in the mid-70s. Golfers will enjoy Trent Jones’ creation with its gentle, undulating fairways and the general impression of wide open space on the two courses. Exotic Araucalia pines and perfumed jacaranda line the fairways at Los Lagos, and olive trees, naturally, are in abundance on Los Olivos. Los Lagos (the Lakes) is the longer of the two at 6404 metres and it is named after its seven thirsty water hazards. Its greens are wide but contoured and well protected bunkers. Los Olivos, at 6009 metres is a tighter challenge than Los Lagos. It has water traps, twisted bunkers and quick greens with subtle slopes. The Greens are to USGA specifications and the fairways are of 419 Bermuda grass.

Lauro Golf Club
Los Caracolillos course at Lauro Golf is a parkland course, set in a rural area only 12 km from Malaga airport. With views of mountains to the north and the Mediterranean to the south, the course adjoins the protected forest area of the Sierra de Mijas. The course is quite level, and there are eight lakes just waiting to catch you! The clubhouse is interesting as it is a 200 year old Spanish Cortijo that has been restored to house a restaurant, bar, pro shop, and offices, all surrounding a lovely Spanish patio -- the perfect spot for after the game.
Notes: Lauo Golf is a reasonably priced course and tries very hard to avoid slow play with 9 minutes between tee times after 10.30h, handicap limitations for the first three hours of play, and higher handicap players allowed after 10.30h.

Torrequebrada Golf
Torrequebrada is a superb golf course located east of Benalmádena near Torremolinos. The 18 hole championship course is situated between the mountains and the sea. It is rich in tropical vegetation, with numerous lakes and bunkers strategically placed, making each hole a different experience for the golfer.
This challenging championship course (in the past Torrequebrada hosted several international tournaments), designed by Pepe Gancedo and opened in 1979, offers everything you wish for: stunning views, elevated fast greens, water hazards and rich vegetation in a very well maintained surrounding. Both the beginner as the experienced golfer will enjoy himself playing this course.
Torrequebrada, home course of multiple European PGA tournament winner and Ryder-Cup player Miguel Angel Jiménez, is a must to play course when visiting the area around Málaga!
